History

A fire extinguisher test at an old hotel, one man;s suggestion and a spontaneous discussion sparked the formation of the Watchung Volunteer Fire Department. From a meager beginning the department has developed into a first-rate organization, whose members serve the community efficiently and unselfishly.

Watchung Fire Dept is Proud to Announce that Firefighter Santa will be visiting the Children of Watchung on Saturday Dec 9th Between 10:00am-4:30pm with a Rain date of Sunday December 10th. We are happy to announce that Firefighter Santa and his elves will once again be handing out pre wrapped Candy Canes!! We will make every effort to stop on all streets in the borough. Unfortunately due to time constraints and possible calls for service we are not always able to. If we miss your street feel free to stop and see Firefighter Santa at Mobus Field from 4:00pm-4:30pm. Please send us a DIRECT FACEBOOK MESSAGE with your street name and we will make every effort to add your street to our route this year.
