HAAS Digital Alerting System

The Watchung Fire Department is proud to showcase the integration of HAAS Digital Alerting Systems from HAAS Alert into five of our emergency response vehicles!

Safety Cloud by HAAS is a cutting-edge digital alerting service designed to improve road safety by alerting drivers to the presence of approaching emergency vehicles. Utilizing real-time data, the system sends notifications through popular navigation apps like Waze and Google Maps, as well as in-vehicle information systems. These alerts give drivers advance notice to slow down, move over, or take other safety precautions, fostering safer roads for everyone.

Key Benefits of Safety Cloud:

• Enhanced Collision Prevention: The system can reduce the risk of accidents by up to 90%, providing critical advance warnings—up to 30 seconds ahead.
• Support for “Move Over” Compliance: By alerting drivers earlier, Safety Cloud helps ensure compliance with “Move Over” laws, improving safety for emergency personnel.
• Improved Crew Safety: This technology adds an extra layer of protection for our firefighters and first responders working along busy roads and highways.

Currently, this innovative safety technology is installed in the following vehicles: Car 601, Car 602, Squad 60, Engine 603, and Engine 608.
