WFD Ice Rescue Technician Training

February 21- If you were wondering what was going on today on Watchung Lake, members of the Watchung Fire Department were conducting training to become Surface Ice Rescue Technicians. A skill we hope never to use except in training, but will be ready to should someone go through the ice. We remind everyone that going on the ice on either of the lakes in Watchung is not only prohibited, but very da ngerous as the thickness varies and you cannot tell how thick the ice is just by looking at it.
