WFD Conducts Boat Training

Today members of the Watchung Fire Department took our boat, Marine 60, out for training on the Raritan River. These members learned how to maneuver small craft, rescue people in the water from the boat, as well as skills to self rescue should our boat become capsized. We would like to thank the instructors from ERT Consultants, LLC for an enjoyable class and for sharing their wealth of knowledge. Marine 60 also performed its first rescue today, while cleaning up for the day another boat became disabled on the river and we were able to assist them safely back to the boat launch.
